photo600Baja Karelia-90 - the second round of the Russian Cross-Country championship - to be held on May 22nd-23rd. Location - Sortavala and Suojarvi regions of the karelian Republic...

The entry list of Baja "Karelia-90" brought some surprises, for example participation .of one of the fastest crews in russian rallying - Andrey Zhigunov/Igor Ter-Oganes'yants. It will be their first appearance in rally-raids, and they will make it behind the wheel of a Superproduction vehicle - NISSAN FRONTIER CREW (Т1).

G-Force Motorsport brought two more surprises, first of them being participation of an experienced crew Alexander Oleinikov/Alexey Kuzmitch under the team's flag. They will drive MITSUBISHI PAJERO EVO in the T2 category.

G-Force Motorsport also intoroduced a brand-new vehicle in russian rally-raids. Ruslan Furundzhi will drive the ISUZU D-Maх car (T2), provided to him by G-Force Motorsport. We have already written about the model on our web-site.

But the G-Force Motorsport team's main hopes will be, of course, connected with their regular crew  Alexey Denisov/Dmitriy Kozhukhov (NISSAN PATROL, Т2 category). This race will be very important for Alexey and Dmitriy, because they failed to finish on the first round of the championship ("Northern Forest-2009") due to technical problems. It was especially disappointing as the retirement occured just after they had increased their lead up to 14 minutes! Now that the series is 2 events shorter (the first one concluded and another one cancelled by the Russian Automobile Federation), only do 3 remaining rounds count for the championship. That makes each additional point even more precious.

Alexey's and Dmitriy's car is now fully painted in the team's corporate colours and was successfully tested during a rally event in the Pskov region ("Blue Lakes-2009"), where they performed as a safety crew.
